This guide is aimed at showing you how to add your first internet domain address to your Hosting Account.
Please note: In this example we have used the term
"yourdomain.co.uk" as our domain name, and "mydomain" is our account username.
Step 1 - Open up your preferred web browser, for
example Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer or Google Crome
and in the address bar enter the following address:
http://panel.redithosting.co.uk then log into the control panel as detailed in our
Knowledge Base Article 4

Step 2 - Located under the "
Hosting Spaces" section click on the "
Domains" icon

Step 3 - Located on the following screen click on the "
Add Domain" button.

Step 4 - You will then be asked to select the type of Domain Name that you wish to add to your Hosting Account. The three types are:
- Domain - This is a normal domain name entry in our example this will be "yourdomain.co.uk"
- Sub-domain - This is an extra domain that you can create off of your top level domain (yourdomain.co.uk). For example if we wanted a separate web site for a testing site (called test) this would be "test.yourdomain.co.uk"
- Domain Alias - This enables you to host a top level domain and redirect any visitors to another web site. For example if we had both yourdomain.co.uk and yourdomain.com. If yourdomain.co.uk is our main website, instead of hosting the website twice in two different accounts we can use this option to redirect any visitors that enter yourdomain.com directly to yourdomain.co.uk

We however, need to add our main Domain name before we can use any of the other options so we will be clicking on "
Domain"
Step 5 - Enter your registered domain name that you wish to use with your Hosting Account in the test area next to the "
www." ensure that the "
Create Web Site" box is checked and click on the "
Add Domain" button at the bottom of the section.

After a short while you should be returned to the main "Domains" section of the control panel which should now display your added domain along with the type of domain added.
